Organized pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela:
Camino Portugues, from Porto to Santiago
2 - 15 October 2022
Join me on a journey you will never forget!

On 22 May 2022 I got on a plane from Amsterdam to Porto (Portugal). I only brought my 30 liter backpack filled with a sleeping bag, an extra set of clothes, a light-weight towel, my flip flops, mini toiletries, my E-reader, a notebook and a ‘village to village map guide’ from the Camino Portugues.

I was about to start a two week pilgrimage from Porto to Santiago de Compostela in Spain!

For two weeks I walked between 20–35 kilometers a day, being on the road 6-10 hours. I slept in pilgrim hostels along the route, ate in whatever restaurant offered a pilgrims menu or was closest to the camino, I took every opportunity I had for a coffee, a pastry and a toilet break, did lots of writing and reflecting and connected with other pilgrims from all ages and nationalities.

During the day I always walked alone, sometimes completely euphoric about the scenery, the freedom and life in general, sometimes just going the distance, having sore feet and legs and looking forward to a shower and a bed.

The first days I had the Atlantic ocean as my companion, taking me through beautiful seaside villages. Later, I walked through stunning countryside, lush forests, vineyards, past many churches, chapels and shrines. Always meeting kind locals wishing me a buen camino!

For me this pelgrimage was one of the greatest experiences in my life!

Are you interested to go on a Pilgrimage through Portugal and Spain yourself? Would you rather do this with the safety, security and comfort of a group instead of alone?
Than I’d like to invite you for the Coastal Camino the Portuguese from Sunday 2 October till Saturday 15 October 2022!

Note: if you don’t have two weeks you can step in somewhere along the way and join from there!
What will you experience?
-
A life changing journey: in 14 days you will walk from Porto in Portugal to Santiago in Spain, covering about 280 kilometers in 12 days of walking!

Being outside and being physically active for most part (6-10 hours) of the day in beautiful surroundings
-
Having a very clear focus for the day and your entire trip and a great feeling of accomplishment once you reach Santiago.

Having many hours to let your mind wander, to reflect, to write, to read, to just ‘be’

And much more as this will be your unique camino and your own personal experience!
